Slightly Confused

I’ve always wanted to try this fragrance, since I am a big fall lover. The only thing I was scared is that I’ve heard that it’s simillar to ponderosa by pineward, which I absolutely hate. But since I have it on skin right now, here you go:
Bramblesap opens up with a cloying very sweet synthetic smell of apricot and lemon, wafer like. After 3 minutes on the skin, pine and a mulled wine smell with spices take over the scent, At this point, a maple syrup smell can also be very noticable. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very well blended, but I think it’s an extremely sweet scent. Like I myself like sweet perfume but this is overly sweet.
The perfume reminds me alot of Christmas, it’s got that cinnamon very sweet gingerbread like smell which I think could be really loved by people.
The drydown, kinda saves the scent for me, there s something here that balances 50% of that sweetness (still sweet but at least more balanced now) maybe the cedar but Idk exactly.
Is it simillar to ponderosa ? Definetely, although this is a way better alternative, while ponderosa smells like sweet vomit, bramblesap takes that sweetness and mixes it cinnamon, mulled wine and syntethic apricot. There’s alot of pine/resins listed in the notes but I can barely pick it up.
Overall, not a bad scent, but did not live up to my expectations, definetely worth a try tho. (This is a review of the 2024 version, I heard the new one is more pine heavy, which could figure this scent out)
