A warm welcome to you! Would you like a sniff of pure bliss?
Today I would like to introduce the next fragrance in this illustrious circle, which I have been eagerly anticipating. On the one hand, I must confess that I am an absolute sucker for Tonkin Musk, following the motto: "Shut up and take my money!" and on the other hand, because the good man from House of Heartistry has spared no effort in making the scent more and more delectable over weeks. Was it worth it? For me, definitely, I love the stuff! :D
I could actually end this review here, but since we are already here, let’s spray it on and "let’s talk business!"
At the beginning, wow! You are literally overwhelmed by a wave of musk! Quite animalistic, but it also rises delicately to the last corner of the nose. Very enjoyable, stimulating, compact, you could almost cut it. All intertwined with a visible creaminess from vanilla, which also somehow comes across as supportive, providing Tonkin with a certain foundation. At least for me, I just can't stop sniffing.
After this musk solo, the fragrance makes room for a tropical mélange. I detect light melon, banana, something that reminds me of cherries, fresh berries, even a very subtle citrus note. Overall, this part vaguely reminds me of the tropical hints from "Sandalver Dragon | House of Heartistry / Heartistry Perfumery," but here without the hints of Tahitians from EO, which I found quite strong in Sandalver. The Tonkin, at least for me, seems to project a bit more individuality in the "exotic" it conveys. In the background, the entire mélange is supported by an interesting minty, slightly smoky note, which adds a little depth to the fragrance progression. Musk forms a certain framework around it all, is definitely perceptible, but somewhat detached from the action.
Slowly, but steadily, the fragrance sinks a bit deeper, becoming more relaxed. Now, lilac and berry notes come into play, it becomes a bit creamier again, and I find it slightly powdery in small traces. The other fruits have done their part, now it’s the berries' turn, which literally pull you into a whirlpool of contentment and meditation. For me, the fragrance indeed has a somewhat Zen-like quality at this point. Wonderful oudy-woody notes caress the nose, inviting you to linger. Slowly, the fragrance comes to a close, becoming a bit sweeter again, beautiful sandalwood vibrates undisturbed in the background. Tonkin Musk envelops the scent from beginning to end, like a warm, cozy blanket. Very delicious :D
Fine (End)

Conclusion: Once again, House of Heartistry has done a fantastic job here.
I just stumbled upon the fragrance and your fantastic review. Sounds really exciting! How does one get their hands on such scents? There’s no link or anything on their Instagram page :)
Hmm, I've only tried one scent from the brand so far, and I was partly put off by the fear that it might just be another label looking to sell standard products for a lot of money. I guess I should give it another chance.
Please do, I don't make or release anything I am not wanting to keep around and wear myself. For 4 years I have done no extensive marketing, I only exist and chose to that is, if people like what I make and share about it with their peers. My project has grown from that organic growth.
