This Damn Gardener

It's so easy not to like him. He's not very intelligent, works too slowly, and chuckles at his own jokes (which are mostly a bit childish). But when you sit down for a beer after a job well done, you quickly realize that he may not be the brightest candle on the cake, but he's always hardworking, giving his best, and sometimes you actually catch yourself smiling at his childish jokes.
#001 Gardener is a fresh scent that doesn't take itself too seriously. Grapefruit and mint kick things off. And where does this apple come from? Not a juicy, green apple, more like a gummy apple from the stand. But I really like it.
Soon, woods and patchouli join in. Somewhere in between is galbanum, which shifts this composition from fruity to green.

The scent progression is relatively linear, but towards the end, it becomes increasingly woody and almost a bit creamy. The gardener theme has definitely been perfectly captured here. I was also very impressed by the spray head. It disperses the content super finely onto the skin, which almost feels like a refreshing summer rain.
While the sillage is good average, I was really positively surprised by the longevity - it only started to fade after 10 hours. For me, it's a perfect scent for spring and summer, provided you can handle the synthetic notes. In the end, it only bothers me that it could have had a few more edges and corners. It also doesn't hold any surprises, so you get exactly what you quickly sniffed out in the perfumery. That might be nice sometimes too.
