Saqi, sweet and musky :)
Hello everyone, as I said in my statement I'm pretty sure I'm the first person to own this so I'll bless u guys with a review.
First of all this fragrance is definitely strong so no need to over spray. This fragrance opens up with a beautiful wine accord which stays throughout the whole duration, after about half an hour the other notes start to come in.
I discovered this brand through a friend and I'm definitely not disappointed with my purchases, in terms of quality it's definitely up there. His blends are beautiful even though apparently most of the openings are harsch, Saqi included. That doesn't mean it doesn't smell good because it definitely does, however it's not mass appealing which is not surprising for indie brands who use a lot of naturals.
The first time I smelled this fragrance it kinda reminded me of Megamare from Orto Parisi which focuses on that salty-aquatic vibe. Saqi however smells muskier which isn't surprising because he uses real musk pods unlike Alessandro Gaultieri, but from this u guys can imagine that it does smell a bit salty even though there is no Ambregris stated in the notes. So to conclude, it smells warm/musky with a sweet wine throughout the whole duration, and last but not least a bit of a salty note with some woods.
To me this fragrance smells like pure musk with some Ambregris and wine which add some sweet and saltiness to the whole, unfortunately the oud and sandalwood can not really be smelled on my skin so they're probably just there for support.
Edit: the oud isn't just for support, it came out a bit late but it's definitely there. I'm not sure from which region it is but it's not really animalic so definitely not indian, if I had to take a guess I'd say Cambodian or Vietnamese.
So as I already mentioned quite a few times the first note u get when u spray this fragrance is WINE, a lot of it. This can definitely be off-putting for some people, but when u get to the drydown the real concoction starts showing itself.
After half an hour of strong wine u start getting a lot of musk, musk is definitely the main player combined with wine. The oud and sandalwood support the whole fragrance by reinforcing and combining those 2 notes together to make 1 beautiful creation. Unfortunately after an hour or so the fragrance doesn't develop that much anymore which is not surprising when u only have 4 notes. Nevertheless this fragrance stays strong, sweet, and a bit animalic which is a great combo imo.
On my skin the longevity is about 8-12 hours with a great sillage for the first 3-4 hours, after that it lingers closer to skin. Imo u can wear this in every season but it would definitely perform at its best in the winter.
If u reached the end of this review don't forget to award it and I'll see u guys for the next one :)
