"Sour rootbeer" ginger, instead of gourmand
The ginger on this is strong and sharp - so strong, that it actually smells a bit like I just freshly ground ginger - or actually veers into "sour rootbeer" category, to my nose.
This was a strange experience given that this is supposed to stay in the warm/baked goods/cookie realm. I do smell a very faint whisper of sugar and molasses in the background, but they are unfortunately choked out by the ginger by leaps and bounds.
I love spicy gourmands, and this was way too much for me - not well blended, and not sure what it wanted to be. Not at all a gingerbread cookie. Definitely sample first before springing for a bottle!
