Unique, simply unique
This fragrance was my first review back then, but I believe that this unique masterpiece deserves a better review than the one I wrote at that time. Since this scent is not widely available here in Germany, I want to provide as many people as possible with a small access to this fantastic perfume.
I was on vacation with two good friends in London. We were in a department store that already made a pompous, rather unique impression from the outside.
We strolled through this shopping mall in London when I spotted a well-dressed man handing out fragrance samples. It didn't take long before I approached him as a big fragrance enthusiast and tried some samples. Karaama means nothing to me so far. However, this beautiful, very elegant bottle with such a good spray head made quite an impression. The finely dressed gentleman gave me the Diamond Oud from the house and Haani - while I still consider myself too young for oud fragrances, Haani really stuck with me. I took my test strip with me through the shopping mall and couldn't help but actually get it. 50ml for £110, or for the poor student at least "only" £100 is quite a statement. But how should I put it? Haani is somehow special; it connects so much good. So many qualities that I simply can appreciate.
Haani opens with a smoky vanilla paired with a certain floral, perhaps fruity note. Alongside the vanilla, I want to spot a bit of raspberry and a touch of honey. The honey note reminds me a bit of that in "XJ 1861 Naxos | XerJoff". But therein lies the crux of this fragrance: it is incredibly multifaceted and develops differently from minute to minute. Shortly after, a certain citrus freshness joins the ever-present, loud vanilla, which is definitely the star of this ensemble. However, the lemon and bergamot do not want to be in the foreground. They merely want to harmonize with the vanilla to do everything possible to deliver the best overall work. In the drydown, the vanilla becomes sweeter and is complemented by a lovely rose, which in the end steals a little of the show. Nevertheless, everything is under the cloak of this gourmand, delicious vanilla, which is perfectly supported and complemented by the different components.
So, I bought this fragrance in London nearly eight months ago and have been wearing it regularly since then. The scent is highly concentrated and very, very long-lasting. 12 hours are easily achievable on the skin, and on clothing, it remains recognizable for a good 2-3 days. However, more than 3 sprays should really not be done, as it would definitely be too much of a good thing. The sillage is also, as one would expect from such an oil, excellent. Haani is a star; it wants to stand out and does stand out. So, if you don't like sweet, vanilla-based fragrances, you should not be around me in the evening. It is definitely unisex, but as a young man, you can definitely wear it, although I think it also strongly depends on one's appearance and not on a certain age. And women who love sweet fragrances will also find great joy in Haani. However, in my opinion, it is a classic autumn/winter scent. At this point, I would like to share a quote from my father. "You smell like you're in a luxury brothel," he said after I got home. That is probably a fitting association as well :D
For me, Haani will always remain the memory of a fantastic vacation that I would repeat at any time. So, anyone in London should definitely visit the house of Karaama. There should be something for everyone.
