The beauty of darkness

When I asked Laurent Smal to describe Sillage to me, he replied "I used to call him "brace yourself", and I can only agree. This composition is a wild one, but it worships the darkness in the most beautiful way.

As I am trying to evaluate the headnote, I am being held back by the fact that something in it clouds my senses, closing my eyes, smelling my skin where I applied it gets me high and dizzy, which I assume might be due to the richness in various incense notes and balsam and high grade oud. To say it short I am already captivated at this point but still thrilled to find out more about what this holy temple smoke creation will develop to.

As it is moving closer to the base I am noticing a big difference to the other patchouli notes I have smelled in the Laurent Smal fragrances I tried to far, it is way more resinous, dark and sticky patchouli which fits the scent's dark vibe perfectly.

Over time, resinous, earthy and leathery notes take the lead. There is smokiness without the "burn", resins without the sharpness and darkness without the cold. If I could describe the scent in a picture I would see myself meditating in the prayer room of a temple in a faraway land, my mind well rested and my spirit relaxed and free.
