Fine Floral Chypre with Dark Alluring Undertone
It is always a bit challenging to write a comment about a fragrance that no one has reviewed before me. On the other hand, there is no question that I am not unconsciously influenced by any "pre-reading." Here, only the judgment of my own nose counts!! And this so-called judgment speaks for the fragrance "Théosiris" Eau de Parfum. It is a floral chypre, reminiscent of scents like "Paloma Picasso" or "Knowing" by Estee Lauder (although, Théosiris was launched BEFORE Knowing according to the listed launch date). The scent begins with a peach-supported "blue" hyacinth aroma, which is enhanced by fine citrus notes. Later, spicy garden carnation, dark red rose, green-tinged lily of the valley, and powdery, pollen-like scents of Tazette (fragrant daffodil) and iris emerge, merging into an elegantly composed mélange of equal floral accents. The longevity on the skin, or the durability of this phase of "Théosiris," is quite enduring, with a good but unobtrusive sillage. This is followed by an equally worthy final phase, or the fragrance slowly transitions into it. And this phase is somehow "dark-alluring," at least that's how I perceive it. There are good proportions of mosses and woods included. For example, sandalwood supports the powderiness of the slowly fading iris, patchouli brings the rose aspect back to life in an interesting and connecting way, amber and moss create a cushion for the fragrant daffodil, and cedarwood adds a slightly dark, woody touch. Here, the chypre aspect is by no means lacking and brings a mysterious, slightly confusing undertone to the overall scent. A captivating and exciting dry down that makes the Eau de Parfum "complete"...
