A Star Among Gourmands

Celestial Object is my latest acquisition and, on top of that, a blind buy! Bold for someone who is usually reserved when it comes to gourmands. However, Liis was already known to me as a brand, and if they can do one thing, it's delicate and unobtrusive fragrances.

Celestial Object starts off spicy-peppery and subtly fruity. The fruitiness is, however, subtle, and I can't say that I specifically smell quince, which I had speculated a bit about, as I find the scent of fresh quinces incredibly beautiful. But that's okay, because the start is still lovely, and it gets even better as it develops: relatively quickly after spraying, a wonderful and authentic rice note joins in, which truly smells pleasantly of steamed rice. Now the fine almond comes into play: delicate almond yes, intrusive marzipan no!! The fragrance notes harmonize wonderfully with each other up to this point, and the further development does not disappoint either. Sweet tonka bean and lovely spice round off the scent. The spice keeps this fragrance from being too sweet, although it is definitely still sweet and remains so. However, it never feels really heavy. The intensity of the scent leans towards "Choux Choux | Liis." So rather delicate. Celestial Object is, just like ChouxChoux, a great entry-level gourmand. I like both fragrances, but I find this one to be a bit more special. Truly a successful release.
