Soul of the Heart? A Surprising Journey

This is my first review on Parfumo. Why this fragrance? Because it has occupied my thoughts over the last few days like hardly any other currently.

Thanks to a great post on the homepage, I was quickly intrigued. Right now, I’m drawn to everything around grapefruit and blood orange, and the pyramid sounded simply wonderful. And thanks to a lovely sharing, the fragrance was quickly in my home.

With proper anticipation, I tested it right away, and the first surprise was there: Âme du Cœurs' opening delivers on its promise! A fantastic play of strong blood orange, warm cardamom, and spicy pepper, which even tingles in the nose.

I was thrilled and immediately wrote to a friend about how positively surprised I was.

After some intense sniffing, the next surprise came: a creaminess, likely from the cocoa, spreads and tries to capture the "sharp" notes in tandem with vanilla, embedding them gently. However, they don't quite succeed, and this endeavor doesn’t come across as harmonious to me.

In the drydown, aromatic wood joins in, but... where is the blood orange? Where is what first catches the eye from the bottle and the pyramid?
Two hours after spraying, I can hardly perceive this component on my skin anymore, and only spicy wood remains.

Disillusionment sets in as the fragrance completely bids farewell after about five hours.

In the following days, everything repeats itself very predictably, and Âme du Cœurs leaves me feeling somewhat perplexed and disappointed in the end.

The fragrance does not live up to the promise of its wonderful and impressive beginning, has mediocre longevity and sillage, and leaves behind a soft and spicy wood in the drydown that feels too interchangeable and lacks a unique selling point.

I also found the opening grand, but then it unfortunately fades a bit. And I smell, even though it's not listed, incense as the dominant note-totally crazy.

I think it's absolutely successful too.
