Diving head-first into the cold ocean (and into a perfume comparison)
On my search for my favorite salty aquatic perfume, I stumbled across this gorgeous scent. My immediate associations after smelling were:
Algae, salty water, sand, rocky cliffs, a cold feeling from the deep ocean water, yet warmth coming from the summer sun. It's a great perfume! But if you're looking for a "clean yet salty breeze" perfume, this ain't it. This one's dirty and rugged and to me , this perfume tells a story of being at sea, surviving storms and breathing that cold ocean air.
Now here's the crazy part: I also immediately thought of another aquatic spicy perfume that I own a sample of: Unda Maris 8 is so crazy similar to Navis it's a bit shocking, really.
Both have a very similar marine scent profile, but where Navis lets out of the water and you leave the rocky, dirty beach, Unda Maris 8 is as if the algae are stuck to your legs and you can hear the church bells ringing. But enough of that comparison, let's return to Navis
The intensity of Navis is.. good, yeah let's say that. It's not too crazy strong, it has a nice projection and it lasts totally fine, but I can't tell you for how long. Do I have other salty perfumes that last longer? Yeah. But in the summer heat, Navis covers all the necessary bases easily. If you were to ask me, which of these perfumes I would recommend to you, is as follows:
Do you like it salty and dirty? If so, you're in the right place. Otherwise, if you prefer it cleaner: try Megamare If you don't want churchy vibes, get Navis . But if you like your perfumes really strong, I'd rather go with Unda Maris 8 Thanks for reading! :)
