Vanilla Waves V2 - Vanilla Warmth in a Snowstorm

Icy air, biting wind, snowflakes on the face. A heavy fur coat protects against the cold as you step from the snowstorm into a secluded wooden cabin. Inside, warmth spreads immediately. Dry wood air, creaking floorboards, the faint smell of fire in the fireplace. On the floor, a thick bear skin rug. Above, warm, muted light from the fire softens the dark wooden walls.
In the air, there is vanilla. Not bright or playful, but deep, dark, and ripe. The scent of split vanilla pods, slightly sweet, almost creamy, mingles with dry wood, resinous nuances, and a hint of smoke. Minimal, controlled sweetness, embedded in warmth and depth. On a small side table sits a glass of bourbon whiskey. Amber-colored, heavy, with that familiar interplay of oak barrel, vanilla, and gentle spice. The association is immediate: vanilla that comes from the wood, from time, from maturity.
You take off the coat and sit close to the fireplace. The warmth spreads slowly. Vanilla remains present, soft and enveloping, accompanied by dry woods and a light, caramel-like depth. Not loud comfort, but a quiet, self-evident warmth. This is exactly the atmosphere that Vanilla Waves V2 conveys to me. Dark, sweet in an adult way, calming and constant, like a safe haven from the cold outside.

Vanilla Waves V2 is not a sugary gourmand, but a dark, adult interpretation of super high-quality, real vanilla. At first, a deep, bourbon-like, French vanilla from intense, aged pods dominates for my nose. Present, but consciously not too sweet and definitely not sticky. A finely dosed cinnamon note adds a subtle spiciness to the fragrance without triggering any associations with pastries or desserts for me. Probably due to the Palembang Oud, I also perceive a subtle caramel nuance from the very beginning. Resinous accents like benzoin and Peru balsam complete the initial impression and give the vanilla even more depth and substance.
As the scent develops, it becomes drier and woodier. The base feels calm, slightly smoky, and reminds me of oak barrels. To be precise, it smells to me like the wood note of whiskey tastes. However, without the alcoholic burn. The sandalwood remains clear in the background and serves more as a structural foundation rather than a dominant note. A subtle, naturally occurring musk rounds everything off and gives the fragrance an intimate, slightly warm aura. Overall, Vanilla Waves V2 is quite a linear, dark, and mature vanilla scent. To me, it feels like a warming companion in cold winter weather.
In terms of performance, Vanilla Waves V2 proves to be very reliable. On my skin, the scent easily lasts for 10 hours. The sillage is not too loud or room-filling, but also not skin-close. Instead, a "soft" scent cloud is created, which is particularly noticeable in close proximity to other people. The sillage thus feels very inviting and high-quality. Overall, it fits perfectly with the dark vanilla/wood structure of the fragrance.

Thank you :)
I haven't smelled the first version yet, unfortunately. But I've been told that it's supposed to be sweeter.
