Quandoley 805 Maison Noir 2024

Here I stand, right at the beginning of my fragrance journey, surrounded by cheapies, the most common mainstream scents, and those oriental ones inspired by great perfumers, gazing speechlessly at the surprise sample I received with my order of exclusively very feminine, vanillic, and pleasing fragrance samples.

All the ordered scents fade into the background, and my attention is glued to this incredibly warm, woody, smoky, and resinous fragrance, and I am enchanted. I can't take my nose off my hand where the sprayer reveals its full splendor. Could it really be? Has the gourmand lover, who only knows Oud from reading, fallen shockingly in love with something completely different?

The scent wraps me in a warm blanket on a cold winter evening by the fireplace. But not a smoke that scratches the lungs, rather a feeling of coming home and comfort. Relaxation sets in.

The more I realize that my journey is still just beginning and there are so many exciting fragrance worlds that I can only just sense so far.

My magical encounter will surely find a place with me - without a doubt - we will meet again in winter. Until then, the sample will be well rationed - just so - for occasional sniffing and feeling good.
