Year-rounder for date nights or for solo leveling

I haven't yet taken Amorist for a spin on date night yet but this is perfect for intimate moments. Or this could be for the solo bachelor, or simply someone looking to subtly impress his love interest.

Amorist is quite a powerful fragrance. I've had it make its mark on my skin for over ten hours which surprised me. Anything floral in my experience tends to fade rather abruptly, so extra points here.

With magnolia present throughout, an extremely pleasant floral accompanies the wearer for hours. Ylang-ylang softly composes everything together, and the blackcurrant is mixed in but not in a way to grab any attention. Amorist is a subtle fragrance meant to be discovered, not announced. It has a hint, a touch of soapiness but not in any bubbly way—simply fresh, even almost minty (but not quite).

Beautiful bottle gradient to tell its story. Amorist can be worn by yourself if you're in that type of mood or with a significant other—this can be worn unisex and may seem feminine-leaning but can undoubtedly be worn with confidence by a man.

Definitely getting a full bottle eventually. This is for those into a more gentle but signature-worthy scent. Another win in my book.

I've recently started appreciating ylang's soft, creamy, banana-like qualities, but how sweet are we talking?
Love the fresh soapiness you described, hope musk, patchouli add a masculine touch instead of going all-in on the vanilla note.

@Wusubi Thank you! Getting a better idea. 👑
I think because the notes you mentioned are typically in the base of many fragrances I've tried, I suck at detecting them. I have to get my nose into many more patchouli-rich frags to know. Had to do the same with vetiver.
100% agree on originality! Obviously my resumé isn't that long but I can tell these seem pretty unique.

@Ezroni that sounds promising, crisis averted!
You could look at musk as this ever-so-slightly sweaty warmth, usually it's paired with a dry wood accord so it actually stands out. Patchouli could play a similar role here, albeit it also tends to be earthy, spicy, with chocolaty woodiness.
Again a very interesting blend from Maurice without the typical spices and woods, you have to give Marc Gebauer some points for originality at the very least.

@Wusubi I'm still very bad at picking out patchouli and musk notes, else I would have loved to include those in my review. 🫣

Let's just say it's very inoffensive to men and women; a safer fume. Not the type of sweet that will turn you away, unless you just don't like florals and sweetness overall.
Honestly, I don't think I get any vanilla with this one, to the point that I forgot it's in there!
