He's perfect… wait a minute!

By chance, I stumbled upon Marc Gebauer's perfume videos two years ago. Back then, they were all with Herbert Stricker.
As a personality on YouTube, he was quite likable, but it quickly became clear that Marc doesn't understand much about perfume.
He mostly repeated what he heard, and when he did come up with something himself, it was usually complete nonsense.
So I was surprised when he released his own fragrances.
Finally, I got around to testing the Orange Flamingo. It was described as fruity-sweet with very good longevity and sillage.
My expectations were accordingly quite low, as I assumed I would find something similar to Erba Pura. I actually don't like that scent at all. However, it turned out completely different.

The first time I sprayed it on and…
what..? Is this Orange Flamingo by Marc Gebauer? Smell again.. smell again.. smell again..
It was… perfect.
Simply perfect.
Fresh laundry with a hint of orange and bergamot.
I had to laugh.
Laugh because it was sooo good.
It reminded me of the warm days in Spain.
My young years in the 2000s in Spain.
Where we went every summer.
I was truly in love; I had found the perfect perfume.
I wore it all day and kept smelling my arm.
Suddenly, a 3-hour car ride was ahead.
Finally over, smell again..
Huh???
What???!
No way??
I assumed the orange would slowly fade based on the notes.
However, everything fresh, citrusy, fruity was gone.
Did I accidentally spray something from my mother?
It smelled completely different.
Floral.
Floral, floral, floral.
Suddenly, I smelled like a 10-year-old girl.
Xerjoff Accento was allowed to continue, as it was just too floral for me.
As everyone should know, this is one of Marc Gebauer's favorite scents.
And over time, it becomes more and more like this.
I am really disappointed that this fragrance takes such an enormous turn.
Sure, it’s winter and you can try it again in summer.. but the top note still won’t last longer because of that.
I claim that this scent is veeeeery pleasing.
Despite the strong longevity and sillage, it’s very hard not to like it, especially with the top note.
It doesn’t clash; it just smells clean, as if you accidentally sprayed yourself with your laundry detergent.

Initially unisex, from the heart note on, it’s for women.
I am really not someone who wears typically masculine scents and needs them to be strong.
But I can’t imagine for the life of me that guys, and especially not men, can rock Orange Flamingo.
Don’t get me wrong.
The scent itself is still great, hence the good rating.
However, I would much rather smell it on my girlfriend than on myself.
You can try it out for yourselves.
The longevity is indeed very good, as is the sillage.
But that’s logical when you consider the oil concentration of 40%.

The bottle is quite nice, 8/10.
The price is quite steep at €200/100ml.
Especially since there is no smaller size available for purchase.
But Marc is exclusively dealing with niche fragrances, so the high price was to be expected.
I recommend everyone to try Orange Flamingo.
However, do it first via decant.
I am sure it will either please you or your partner very much.
I hope you enjoyed my review.
I would be very happy about a rating or a response; I read everything.
