Bois d'Ébène Matière Première 2019

Bois d'Ebene is so similar to Santal Austral Eau de Parfum that it's a wonder they were released in the same year by the same house. I'd say owning both is probably redundant. Very similar iris-y sandalwood to Santal Austral's sandalwood is combined with a dusty pencil-shaving-esque cedarwood, making this an extremely woody fragrance without much nuance. I wish it were more smoky or had a bit else going on, as the woody accord is nice, but a bit barren by itself.
