Everything a Matter of the Batch

Endless discussions about different batches have certainly been heard enough at Parfumo. Nevertheless, I wanted to address the topic, especially with this fragrance, due to the very poor reviews. I can agree with them when I compare one sample of Very Cherry Chocolate Patchouli with another: there are worlds between them ..
One starts with rose and a sweet chocolate note and is drowned within a few minutes by the piercing Ambroxan, as another perfumer has aptly put it here.
The other sample is a dream for me. Here, the start is fruity floral with a summery rose note, sweet lychee, and a hint of cherry. The fragrance then becomes powdery after about 20 minutes, and the chocolate notes come through stronger.

Whether it is due to the brand working a lot with natural fragrance materials or that it is (according to some statements) handmade, I have certainly noticed the strong differences between the variants more often with this brand. On one hand, it’s nice not to have a “mass-produced” product, but on the other hand, it’s frustrating when you buy a whole bottle and then don’t like the scent. :D Let’s see when this fragrance will join my collection and whether I will have luck or misfortune with the formulation.

Yes, I can confirm that about the batches. Luckily, I didn't have an Ambroxan bomb, just one with a lot of cherry and little rose, and the other was the opposite. But even in the base, the two were different; one felt waxy to me, while the other didn't.
