Sesame does not open
I treated myself to Vetiver extraordinaire by Malle just before the lockdown as a little consolation (mainly because a spray sample had blown me away so much that I couldn't get it out of my head and had to have it, but now it's too heavy for me, but that's a story for another time) and the fragrance enthusiast of the seller kindly showered me with many very nice samples, including this sesame scent, which I can now use to pass the quarantine.
So Kedu Sesame is supposed to smell like a garden in Java? Many fruits in it, but I don't notice much of that; I can't make out grapefruit or mandarin, for me peony and freesia dominate, so overall it's rather floral, but in a fine and elegant way.
A little sesame comes through as well, which gives it a special twist. But not so much that it would justify the title. I could have more of that.
But still a lovely floral scent that I really like. Great for everyday wear.
BUT:
The longevity is abysmal! After just one or two hours, I can hardly perceive anything on myself, let alone in my surroundings! I have the constant feeling that I need to reapply, and for that, the price is clearly too high for me to empty a bottle in just a few weeks. Really a shame. If they can improve the longevity, I'm in!
