Loud, Sweet, and Green
Now that I have tested Sintra for a bit longer and recently happened to receive a sample of "Love Don't Be Shy (Perfume) | Kilian," I would like to share my impressions with you.
Both fragrances feature orange blossom as the protagonist along with a marshmallow note.
Sintra and Love Don’t Be Shy are often compared to each other.
So, you probably don’t need both fragrances, which is why here’s my decision-making help:
Love Don't Be Shy Perfume starts with the aforementioned orange blossom and quickly heads in a sweeter direction.
The marshmallow-orange blossom combo smells somewhat like Hubba Bubba. (I think almost everyone knows the pink chewing gums.)
The scent is not cloyingly sweet. It is a very pleasant, carefree sweetness.
BUT you have to generally like sweet fragrances; otherwise, it won’t work.
Longevity is great, the sillage is good but I think it could be even better.
Now to Sintra:
The orange blossom-marshmallow combo is the same. This common denominator unites both fragrances.
But Sintra is a beast! You wouldn’t expect it from the scent, but it really packs a punch! A few sprays are enough, and you smell very strongly of this fragrance all day long.
Additionally, you get red berries and musk in the base.
While Love Don’t Be Shy has almost a warming, light sweetness, Sintra comes with green notes, especially in the top note.
You have to like that, and I think that’s why Sintra is definitely not a blind buy candidate!
On the other hand, Love Don’t Be Shy is a safe bet if you know you like marshmallow fragrances. I would even call it an absolute crowd-pleaser among niche fragrances.
However, Sintra personally convinced me more, as it smells very special and the performance is incredibly good.
I would even claim to have discovered one of my favorite fragrances.
I think anyone who likes "Fleurs Bohèmes - Sintra | Memo Paris" will also like "Love Don't Be Shy (Perfume) | Kilian."
Conversely, this will not be the case to the same extent.
