Unique Popcorn Scent

I actually went to the perfumery to test the popcorn scent from THOO - but it wasn't there. Then Gardez came into play on the recommendation of the saleswoman. The first impression: popcorn (of course!). But not sweet or gourmand, nor greasy-buttery, rather dry, slightly smoky, somehow totally elegant. This piqued my curiosity, and I immediately began testing the scent on my skin throughout the day. Interestingly, I had another, also very convincing scent applied on the other side, but my mind kept drifting back to Gardez, and I found the competitor increasingly intrusive and loud as the day went on.
According to the description, notes like apricot, blackcurrant, jasmine, and iris are included - to be honest, I don't smell anything specific from those, but they surely contribute to the "roundness." What I perceive is popcorn, very soft leather, and a bit of wood. Over time, mainly the leather remains, but it's very pleasant. There is no drastic development, rather a calm, stable scent progression.
Gardez does not impose itself. It is special. The mood is relaxed, almost reserved - and yet it somehow lingers. For me, it is clearly unisex, with a tendency towards the masculine - but that is precisely what makes it interesting for women who are not looking for fresh or sweet scents.
Regarding performance: It holds well on the skin, but it stays close. At €270, you have to appreciate that - Gardez is worn for oneself, not for others.
The bottle is of high-quality craftsmanship. It symbolizes the black queen in chess.

Conclusion: Not a loud scent. Those looking for something extraordinary that has a subtle effect but character should definitely test Gardez. I wouldn't buy it blindly, but it definitely has its place. I bought it at least because I've never smelled anything like it anywhere else.
