I love citrus in all its permutations, but lemon scents are often either too soapy or too chemical. Sunlit Citadels is the first I've experienced where the lemon is grounded by something more earthy but still manages to stay fresh and ethereal. The name is perhaps influencing me a bit, but I get a bright lemon zest tempered by warm stones, like a lemon tree growing amid an ancient ruin. Citruses also tend not to last very long on my skin, so I was pleasantly surprised by the longevity here. I'm a big fan of this house, and the quality to price ratio is fantastic, so I look forward to seeing what they do next.
