Montagne does it again!
Montagne never fails to impress me with their offerings, and this is no exception! Lattafa, Fragrance World, Dua, and Dossier should really be taking notes.
As a long time fan of Initio Rehab, I was so sad after I traded off the remaining part of my tester a few months ago. I got a bottle of Xerjoff Naxos in the exchange, but I haven't been enjoying nearly as much as I did Rehab. I have several other frags with similar DNA: Spicebomb, SB Extreme, SB Fresh, SB Metallic Musk, Histoires de Parfums 1899 Hemingway, and a few other lesser known examples, but none of them are as good or are as versatile as Rehab.
I initially ordered a decant of Eden and was taken aback with how close it was to Rehab and ordered a full bottle of it a few days later. I got my bottle second hand with a few sprays missing so it was completely oxidized and ready to rock. I do recommend extracting a few sprays from Montagnes and letting them sit in the dark for 6-8 weeks to develop their full scent profile and performance.
What you get here is almost identical to Rehab, all of the notes are present. The performance is actually better with Eden, I can smell it 10+hours later, projection is very good for the first 4-5 hours and it settles afterwards, last days on clothing.
Rehab is probably the most versatile fragrance with this type of DNA, maybe slightly less so than SB Metallic Musk. It's good for any season and occasion save for the very hit and humid days. It is even creamier and slightly less masculine than the original Rehab, definitely unisex however still leaning a bit masculine.
There is a subtle smokey note in the dry down and there is a musk that is much more present than the one Intio claim is in Rehab.
Montagne demands a price that is about double what you expect for a typical ME clone: $45 for a 50ml. This is slightly less than Alexandria charges for its frags, but I think Montagne generally has much better quality. Mind you, this is still only about 10% of the price you would pay attention retail for a 90ml of Rehab. Rehab does occasionally pop up on discounters where it still demands 5x the price of Eden.
Overall, this is a 9/10 to my nose and I will likely be buying backups in the coming months.
