A true nightmare...
I suppose I am like many perfume fanatics: I always try to sniff out what the person next to me is wearing. It’s like an obsession, you can’t help it. It’s all the more frustrating with people who, due to their profession, forgo fragrances, like my beautician. Sure, she smells like fresh laundry, from the products she uses, but of course not like a distinctive scent.
Recently, while my mask was setting, we discussed what she uses privately. Surprisingly, she said she has loved Alien for a long time... okay, I didn’t expect that, I was thinking more along the lines of Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, or something like that... Sure, I knew those, but I must shamefully admit: Alien totally passed me by. A while ago, I used to love and often wear Angel, and I must have tried Alien at some point, but apparently, it wasn’t love at first spray...
Freshly groomed, with my night cream already on, I drove home and soon went to bed. Now, what I dreamed that night is truly real, no joke: I find myself, trapped, in a rather strange perfume store, no matter which way I look: everywhere there are Alien bottles and boxes stacked up. You can’t see any windows, just Alien everywhere... The worst part: I can’t try it, and when I want to buy one, I realize that the saleswomen are mannequins. (If anyone remembers the old "The Avengers" series, I felt like Emma Peel... although Alien wouldn’t really suit Diana Rigg...:-)
In the morning when I woke up, the dream was so vivid, it didn’t leave me all day. Since I was going shopping with my mother in the evening, it was obvious that I would head to the nearest turquoise store. Conveniently, it’s everywhere... HA! There stood the monster of my dreams! Bravely, I sprayed my arm, and then a real, living saleswoman appeared... Completely confused, I sniffed my wrist - huh? Goodness! Why am I only getting to know you now? You’re not bad at all, you’re simply wonderful! I was immediately enchanted by the scent, looked at the saleswoman with dreamy eyes, and whispered: I have to have this....
Everything has probably already been said about the scent. For me, it’s the case that my skin simply devours most fragrances. But Alien is one that it can’t overpower, even though it tries, because it becomes soft, powdery, pleasantly woody after 2-3 minutes, not at all overpowering, and lasts... and lasts... I love it when my scarf smells like it.
Since then, I’ve become Mugler-addicted, I’ve quickly expanded my collection... But Alien remains my favorite - thanks to the nightmare..:-)
