Trying to smell nice for once...
Hello and good evening, you Parfumos (and Parfumas)! So, where have you stuck your noses today? :DD
For me, it was Alien Fusion by Thierry Mugler for men. After all, since last year (that is, since 2018), the spacey Alien line is also available for us men, and it is almost certain that at least one new flanker will be released each year from now on. Whether that is good or bad, well, that can be debated, as tastes are always different. Personally, I find the women's fragrances simply fantastic, well, most of them, and yes, I know that most girls can’t stand these scents anymore, but I still think they smell so great and,… as I have mentioned a thousand times in all my comments about these fragrances, they make the girls absolutely delicious and irresistible… you know that about me, so you could also let yourselves be nibbled on, but nooo,… hmpf! :D
With the Alien fragrances for men, I could actually hope to smell just as appealing (that is, for you ladies, so that you find me nibble-worthy too :DD But again, no, one prefers DonJuanDeCats' cat,… that furry rascal… *sigh*). But enough whining for now. So how has Alien Fusion turned out, which already makes a great impression visually with its wonderful, almost neon blue color?
Well… unfortunately, the bottle is the best part of the fragrance, to put it bluntly… but at least the scent is not a complete disaster!
**The Scent:**
At first, I smell a slightly sweet cinnamon, a lot of ginger, and a synthetic sweet note that I can't quite identify, but I know this scent mainly from summery (and also synthetic) fragrances, for example from the summer editions of CK One fragrances. It has a kind of scent that seems to me like… believe it or not, the cone of an ice cream. It’s almost as if you were eating ice cream, having nearly devoured the scoops, and now going for the cone, which is continuously filled with the remaining ice cream. Of course, all of this might just be my perception, but I just didn’t know how else to describe this kind of sweetness. Anyway, this is not a bad scent in itself; it seems nice, but it also has a large portion of synthetics.
Unfortunately, after about ten minutes, there is a scent note that personally bothered me a lot. At times, it even smelled disgusting like… oh, this is really hard to describe… so I’ll just say it smells like a wet thumb that starts to smell gross! :D Sorry, but I couldn’t think of anything better! :DD (Maybe this is a slightly over-dosed ginger that has possibly gone a bit off in the bottle, I don’t know; if I should test the scent again, I will correct this here accordingly if it smells different in further tests!).
Fortunately, this strange scent fades away quite quickly. And especially from the base, the fragrance smells much better again. It still has that cone note, which is a kind of scent like powdery tonka bean, combined with other sweet scents, all of which, as already mentioned, smell quite synthetic. I couldn’t detect any leather, and I don’t really find the scent woody either. As mentioned, the base is nice again, but also highly insignificant, as this kind of scent is now known from everywhere.
**The Sillage and Longevity:**
The sillage is good; the scent can definitely be smelled on you for several hours, and despite the strange beginning, I don’t find the scent really overwhelming, as the unpleasant scent note fades away. The longevity is six to seven hours, which is above average and still good.
**The Bottle:**
The bottle is the real, secret star here. It has the shape of the first bottle of Alien Man. It is rectangular and quite angular, resembling a spacey crystal in a wonderful blue color. If it were light blue, I would have surely said, as a known nerd, that it would fit well in Superman's Fortress of Solitude… :D
The spray head is integrated into the bottle, as is customary with Mugler, so there is no cap. As mentioned, an excellent bottle that should also look extremely good on the shelf.
Okay,… uh no!
Alien Fusion for men is a fragrance that has turned out a bit boring (at least for a Thierry Mugler) and also smells synthetic. Well, the synthetics bother me less here, as they remind me, as mentioned, of CK One summer fragrances, which, while not really great scents, are also not so bad that one couldn’t use one or the other CK One summer fragrance (or, for example, a summer scent from Issey Miyake, etc.) during the summer. Because while you shouldn’t expect much, in my opinion, you also don’t make a mistake with these scents, as they are casual and fresh and, in that sense, quite nice. And Mugler fragrances have always had something synthetic about them, but in this scent, the synthetics are indeed more pronounced than one is used to.
It is particularly suitable as a going-out and party scent (for younger people) in spring and summer; however, Alien Fusion unfortunately costs a bit more than other fragrances like CK, Issey Miyake, Jil Sander, or other brands with similarly smelling scents, so it doesn’t seem worth it to me price-wise for this fragrance… however, you can still take a “look” at it.
I liked the first Alien Man scent better, even though the first scent was also quite synthetic. The best part of this scent is rather the excellent bottle, unfortunately nothing more. Maybe I am also disappointed for this reason, as I simply expected too much because of the beautiful bottle, and I had liked most of the Alien women's fragrances so much that I was also expecting something great for the men (…let’s see how Alien Fusion for women turns out…).
And I am also disappointed that I apparently won’t smell appealing to ladies with this, I believe at least, although… this synthetic sweetness isn’t so bad after all… come sniff me… :DD
That’s all from me, and I wish you all a lovely evening and a great weekend :)

I found it (on the first test) terrible! Pure synthetic! The original Alien Men was really good, but this one unfortunately isn't.
