Fruity Alien
Hello everyone,
I think many of us agree: Mugler fragrances have changed since the L'Oréal takeover. Many, like me, know the Mugler fragrances from the 90s with bomb durability, mega sillage and nuclear projection. The latter even made some people feel nauseous.
The Goddess line was much discussed in the frag community and generated a lot of hate at the beginning. Today, however, it is clear that the change in Mugler fragrances is reaching a whole new target group. The Goddess line in particular is crowd pleasing, no longer controversial and challenging for the nose.
The new Alien Goddess Eau de Parfum Supra Florale is also tame, with a gentle alien heart, the familiar jasmine infusion and an ambery base note.
I tested this fragrance extensively because I wanted a nice summer scent that wasn't a freshie, but not a beachy scent either. And I found what I was looking for at Supraflorale.
The feedback from people around me was all very positive. It was described as "why and somehow flowery".
The opening is fresh and slightly fruity, probably due to the cactus fruit and blossom. This has a bit of a fabric softener character with the floral accords. The scent is clean and well-groomed. After about half an hour, the jasmine accord opens up, giving the entire fragrance a familiar alien aura. The immortelle (flower of the curry herb) gives the heart of the fragrance a slightly honey-like note, but without being sticky or synthetically syrupy.
The base is warm, ambery and slightly mineral. The description says "mineral moss", but even as a florist I can't make much sense of it...
Overall, I find the fragrance successful and quite innovative despite its crowdpleaser character. I don't remember any (designer) fragrance that was composed like this.
Lasts about 5-6 hours on the skin. Perceptible on clothing even the next day. The sillage is strong at the beginning, but decreases quickly and progressively after 1 hour. Projection after application is relatively good, but also fades quickly after 1 hour.
Even though this fragrance is targeted at women, I still find it unisex. The mineral and amber undertone makes it possible for me.
Although cowd pleasing, still not a blind buy candidate. Definitely try it out!

I enjoyed reading your review :). I'm totally with you: this is a somehow special fragrance that appeals to something in me. Special, but still soft, sweet and crowd pleasing:).

I've been wearing it for a while now. The feedback is mostly good. I particularly like the dry down on my skin. Somehow an outer version of myself. :D
