Iho Nakuna 2020

As already mentioned with "Musta," the Nakunas seem to have an overarching base - and that's why "Iho" feels a bit like its little sister. Still a vanilla (-Ambroxan) fluffy - but here significantly sweeter and brighter, without leather and darker notes.

"Iho" is more powdery, citrusy, and almost reminiscent of makeup and iris fragrances. However, it doesn't completely shed its woody side. A soft, velvety scent to sink into. While "Musta" was still bitter and very autumnal, here there's a lot of love and it's more spring-like. Commendable and lovely. Like a luxurious raspberry yogurt in a bowl made of light wood. Minimal incense is present here as well. Vanilla is not sticky or cheap at all. Everything is nice and rounded. I can understand a certain "hairspray" note, but I've associated it more with powder and makeup, which doesn't bother me at all. Quite the opposite, I could actually handle a bit more of that. More youth, more rebellion, more defiance. More edge and more character. So far, the Nakunas seem incredibly conventional. Fine - but conventional. Almost like an Ikea collection for everyone and from the niche special offer. "Handmade" or bold couldn't be further from the truth.

Bottle: elegant, somewhat monotonous
Sillage: solidly noticeable (the Nakunas do seem a bit like layer fragrances, where the base is more prominent)
Longevity: 7 hours is enjoyable for me

Conclusion: an Ambroxan smoky that suits me. Almost a bit powdery and feminine, yet woody enough. But unfortunately, it doesn't inspire leaps of joy.
