I am now the first person in the world to have it at home. Thanks to Pana Dora and Ibrahim for that.
Now to the scent: Some love it, others don’t like it at all. Why? I think it’s the cinnamon. At first, it’s quite demanding or almost intrusive. However, this settles down after about 10 minutes, and then the harmony that one knows from Pana Dora emerges. The citrus notes combined with the spicy nutmeg bring calmness to the fragrance. The saffron exudes a slightly creamy sweetness, making this scent almost appear romantic.
The heart notes finally bring the Orient into the fragrance, making it lightly smoky, spicy, and creamy.
The base is defined by cedarwood and a dark pine resin, which gives this perfume strength, which is in turn softened by labdanum.
I find Onyx Black very successful, even if it’s not a milestone. However, the name promises more than it delivers, because it’s not that BLACK.
And I, who just got to test it, am blown away! You definitely didn't exaggerate, it's very powerful, spicy... an overwhelming sensory experience right from the start! I don't find the cinnamon too much, though. This scent definitely turns heads! It's a candidate that should go on the wish list, but I see it more for fall/winter or on very cool spring days. Unfortunately, everything changed for me after the opening; I developed a strong headache, and I suspect it's the cypriol, which makes me sad because I really loved the opening of the fragrance.
However, I will give it a second chance...
My colleague and I were able to test it in Milan, and he received the fragrance as a gift. At first, I thought it was okay, but after an hour on the skin, it’s so, so beautiful!
However, I will give it a second chance...
