The Pastor's Wrigleys

The "5" from Coolife is a creamy milk mint with bright incense tones developing later on. Unusual, but surprisingly pleasant. One wonders why similar scents are not encountered more often...

"Le Cinquième Parfum" combines a niche summer refreshment akin to "Menthe Fraiche" with more autumnal noble creams like "Bois D'Iris" - not common, but well made. Although I prefer the sparkling first half of the fragrance to the warmer, somewhat staid last half, the perfume undoubtedly has class, novelty, and a reason for existence. Thumping feel-good vibes. A favorite of mine from Ms. Pauline R. Rather masculine. Minimalistic and almost futuristic due to its Iso-E touches.

Bottle: a beautiful blue, the rest rather bland
Sillage & Longevity: delicate, but not wispy due to the light smoky backbone - 4-5 hours

Conclusion: an unusual mint-incense freshener between communion and first kiss. Not unpleasant, rather sweet and soothing.

"Bois d´Argent", fresh-mediterranean-aquatic variation

A rarely encountered blend. "Le Cinquième Parfum" from the rather marginal niche brand Coolife in Germany beautifully and harmoniously combines two fragrance styles that are usually never mixed.

One might look puzzled for a second, but the combination works here. Mint, basil, and bergamot open with lively refreshing, quite creamy arranged aromas - somehow, I get a (rather noble-looking) aquatic impression, although it is more of a secondary effect.

What then creates the interesting twist after just a few minutes is the mild but very present Somali incense, which harmonizes surprisingly well with the lively and vibrant top notes.

The quality of the incense reminds me - especially in combination with very soft, sweet amber - strongly of Dior's "Bois d´Argent", which is primarily built on creamy-gourmand-oriental notes.

Here, the fresh and lively primary aromas, especially the softly captured mint, enhance the impression of an original attempt to couple noble oriental with summery Mediterranean vibes.

Unfortunately, the Coolife scent (50 ml - 145 euros) becomes a bit thin towards the end; after a little more than an hour, essentially creamy amber and incense remain on the skin. The Dior lasts longer and has a bit more sillage. Otherwise, it is undoubtedly a nice scent, perhaps a bit too polished in appearance.
