Not for inexperienced noses!

For whatever reason - it was a Pernoire Discovery Set that was my first encounter with niche perfume. Before that, Dior Homme Intense had been the height of my feelings, and now right at the start, Masar from the Discovery Set...

This piece knocked me off my feet - what is this? WOW, this is something completely new in my designer cosmos, and I find this composition is a good example of what niche perfumes want/should represent.
It's about more individuality, and that is definitely found in this perfume.

It is a composition of honey, tobacco, and amber that is truly not for inexperienced noses. Mysterious, balsamic, sweet but still hits you hard. I can't wear it all the time because sometimes it just gets on my nerves. Too overpowering. On other days, I love it.
One day, I wore the scent to a birthday party, and the person opposite me was smelling of candles and flowers and then asked me: "What does it smell like here?" I casually replied: "Whale vomit," and he was like "HUH????" I laughed so hard.
Compared to other amber scents, the animalic note is always very noticeable; even after several washes, it can still be smelled. You can almost perceive a certain fecal note. Longevity and sillage are intense.

Definitely a crazy piece that really threw me into the deep end. I've never regretted it.

I also wish the Pernoire team good luck for the future.

"You can almost detect a certain fecal note." Thank you for bringing this up. Sometimes I think my nose is broken when I smell something like that in a perfume! Thank goodness I'm not alone in this! 🫶 So that's the famous "animalic" I've always read about and couldn't quite place.
