Summer childhood in eastern Europe
A wonderful composition, smelling like a smoldering log, a very pleasantly warm bonfire, or perhaps a wooden church in the middle of a forest where someone set a fire. Despite the lack of labdanum in the notes, I can smell it resonating beautifully, lingering on the skin for hours, creating a pleasant campfire experience. Despite all this, the smoke isn't from those irritating or overly strong smoked meats.

Last words on a stake.
My moment of glory here, since I've been named after an actual martyr burnt alive - obviously, I had to try it.
Only 200 bottles were made, uh? If you see one, trust me, it's worth grabbing it.
Saddest perfume ever made, and so, so beautiful. I'd say it's better than Altere , while the both of them is incredible.

It is not only "smoky": it smells like ashes. Burnt to the ground. The metallic notes in the opening, few drops of blood left by the martyrdom before getting burnt on the stake.
There are a lot of tree and green notes, but they don't manage to make it feel alive; the opposite, actually. Somehow cold, despite the whole burning thing going on, it perfectly depicts what is left after all that suffering.
The nature is still there, the world keeps spinning, but something it's lacking. A soul, a life, a believer.
A funeral pyre. The silence of the remains.

Brimstone and Ash
Something about this reminds me vaguely of Sorcinellis churchy incenses but I need to add that comparing them is a mistake.
I think they both evoke a similar spiritual atmosphere but Martyr does it in a way I have not seen before.

This is one of the most desolate perfumes I have tried. It does not smell smoky, it smells like the concept of burning itself, it smells like flame not like smoke. I think in large part this is due to the listed "metallic" note because it creates this sharpness along with the woody and peppery notes that I have only ever smelled from burning wood fires before.
Despite smelling of fire this is also a very cold perfume, just like the description says it evokes the image of lighting fires in a forest clearing during the night.

Dark, unapologetic, contemplative and cold as far as incense perfumes go.
I would struggle to wear this out, unlike something like Terroni with its softer smoke accord and bright berry opening there is nothing in this that is added to ease the intensity of it.

Not a must own but a must sample for anyone who tends to enjoy this profile.

Burning and dying wood close to the factory and the forest
Martyr – I really enjoy being pleasantly surprised among the hundreds of scents I encounter, many of which feel derivative, mediocre, copied, bland, and lacking any sense of storytelling as they project on the skin. This time, the fragrance truly surprised me… and in a hugely positive way.

Starting with the name – a brilliant idea, followed by an even better concept and execution of the bottle design. And then the juice itself: the composition/blend, longevity… What intrigued me the most, though, was the evolution over time, which I perceive as a coherent story. There’s also a sense of maturity and craftsmanship from the creator that ties it all together. Bravo.

I’m doubly satisfied, even more so because the scent truly aligns with my specific taste. I absolutely LOVE perfume brand debuts like this. Instead of a few “meh” scents, we get a solid “TA-DA!”

The perfume opens strong and dark – for me, it evokes the smell of smoldering wood burning near… a factory. Over time, the scent becomes increasingly woody, with a darker aroma reminiscent of an old forest, damp undergrowth.
In the drydown, I see a picture forming of brighter resinous, woody, and green notes emerging – especially oakmoss – although the smoky opening still lingers, like a powerful inhale of scent that stays in your nostrils and on your clothes from the beginning.

This is a really cool creation, with an interesting evolution and truly good, or even great, performance. The opening somewhat reminded me of Black Tar (Parfumerie Particulière), and also a bit of Incendo (La Curie).

Highly recommended – and major applause to the Artist behind this work.

This one's for the hunks
Quite dark. Very strong at first, softens up as it ages on the skin.

It's TOO masculine for me (something you'll rarely hear me say). Wearing this was like wearing your father's clothes as a kid... Swimming in fabric with your little feet holding on to the shoes for dear life lest they slip off; The only difference is I will never grow into this smell with time lol. Huge win for masculine scents! Very sexy on my partner x

Smells like a church mass in the forest. Uplifting green woody notes, paired with a gentle smokiness and incense. Delightful!

First leather, carrot, herbs. Then parsley root, smoked meat, burning smell. Hard pass, sorry

This is an artistic take on annihilation, crucifiction and self burning. Intense, smoky, woody, rusty. Good, but lacks occasion to wear
