Soapy soapiness oozes so wonderfully sweet

"Geoffrey" is Grey Flannel without the dust. He is a One Man Show without the sweat. He is Ceasar's Man without the chemistry. Actually, a damn good alternative from the Stuttgart master to these macho powerhouse classics - and yet I just can't enjoy the scent. Fans of soapy roughnecks & regular customers of the Schlossparfumerie will hardly see an alternative. But this "Geoffrey" occasionally makes me feel quite nauseous. Too bad, but it happens...

"Geoffrey" is a soapy, a stable stinker & a hefty guy. This squeaky sweet neon soap from the 80s, like Drakkar Noir, meets the flowers of the old man's school & chest hair like Hasselhoff after a long day at the beach. Or in Kitt. "Geoffrey" initially looks like blue blood, but gradually the macho automatism rises. A masculine jumble of moss, violet, patchouli, green spices & bitter bergamot. Throwback to the 80s - I am usually the first in line. But this one annoyed me quite a bit today. Over the years, my aversion to this retro soapiness seems to be growing more and more. But for fans of the old bulls - whether soapies, chypres or fougeres - "Geoffrey" is a pleasantly unvarnished man's scent that doesn't have nearly as good manners as one would expect from a fragrance from a Schlossparfumerie. Those who can't relate to the mentioned 80s bombs will surely find almost only better alternatives in the Schlossparfumerie & won't even need to test more. Just move along, there's nothing to see here!

Bottle: between meh & lame.
Sillage & longevity: a soapy powerhouse. A stinker with charm. 7 hours.

Conclusion: soapy, juicy, sweet - I even like the darkest corners of the 80s. However, I don't like these sweet soap stinkers (anymore). It surely has its fans & is competently made, but it doesn't make me smell very good. A mistake ;)

Thank you for the very helpful comment. I'll give the scent a try tomorrow morning. I actually thought it would be perfect for me, but now I'm not so sure anymore.
