Warm Cardamom Vanilla Dreams
Oh yessssss! So much cardamom in the opening! Why almost every perfume I own has to have pepper in the opening, I don't know. I guess it's a trendy note for the past decade. I can honestly do without the pepper, it doesn't do much after the first few seconds. BUT CARDAMOMMMMMM.... yes.... It's absolutely gently stunning with a warm, ambery, vanilla cardamom.
I tried Lune Féline Eau de Parfum, but the cardamom was somewhat cold and not what I was looking for. Un Samedi a Paris what I was dreaming of! The cardamom note is detectable to me throughout the opening and dry down. I can actually pick out all the notes listed, for what that's worth. It's a somewhat light fragrance, but the vanilla, tonka, amber and wood keep it warm. The cedar and vetiver lift give a lift and make me think it could be wearable in the Summer as well. On a heaviness scale, I would put it just a tad warmer and sweeter than Eau Duelle Eau de Toilette , but much lighter than Angélique Noire . It's perfect for (cold, Northern European) spring and fall. I'm curious to try it in warm weather.
I'm using it in the spring now and it lasts a good 4 hours and then becomes a skin scent for the next 4 after that, with the cardamom fading away. On clothes with natural fibres, it's still going strong 2 days later. Update - 6 days later and I still smell it on my coat. Amazing!
The bottle is OK, it's generous at 125ml. I dream of beautiful curvy or vintage Shalimar-style bottles for all fragrances, but I know it's a dream. But HEY, the atomiser - Woah! It has a very big spray diameter. I can get a fine mist on my whole torso. I did one spray on my body today and I can still smell it after 8 hours. Nice. I'm in love.
