Dupe for Thé Noir

Glad to be the first to review this (& my first review in general!). I fell in love with Le Labo's Thé Noir a few years back but could never quite pull the trigger. The juicy fig, rose, black tea & tobacco combination is so beautiful and unique to me but the price not so much. For years I kept thinking about that scent being resigned that it's out of my reach.

Fast forward to last year, I was browsing in an indie boutique in Brunswick and noticed that they had SSaint in stock. Out of curiousity I picked up Cosmic Bang and immediately recognised the scent I've been craving. At first I thought maybe it was the fig & tea note that confused me, but when I looked up the notes on their website it was dead on. I'm talking about the same exact top, middle & bottom notes listed on another fragrance website starting with F. Surely it can't be a coincidence?

Onto the perfume itself. While almost being a 1:1 dupe to Thé Noir, there's a few minor differences. Cosmic bang has less subtlety (bang!), and the transition between notes much less noticeable. It's very linear compared to Thé Noir. You also don't get the rose in the dry down but the tobacco & cedar are prominent. But I don't mind it considering what drew me to Thé Noir was the juicy fig top notes which is replicated exactly. Longevity and sillage are also better than Thé Noir but it could be because I'm much less frugal in my application now that I have 100ml to play with.

All in all a beautiful scent and a must for fig tea lovers.
