...the house Testament London, which I probably wouldn't have come across so soon without the active assistance of an exceedingly friendly perfumer, who lent me the brand's Discovery Set for testing and writing. Eager and expectant, I embarked on the olfactory, perhaps even esoteric journey that the house promised on its website - there was talk of herbs and spices, wild grasses and flowers, barks and animals, and trees, with their essences as the engine of the multiverse. Oh. It sounded rich, promising, and a bit immodest, which is certainly not a great harm, as attention is considered a precious commodity, hard to attain in times like these.
In the midst of summer, which was hot and dry like few ever before, my journey began, the first stage of which was called "Longevity" - a name that seemed ambitious to me, reflecting the house's desire for longevity as well as the durability of the fragrance that bore the same name. The ingredient list was rich, and certainly not summery - but then again, neither were the fragrances worn in Marrakech and Damascus, on the back of a camel in the Sahara, and everywhere the temperatures were much higher than in Central Europe's high summer. And there, I am sure, "Longevity" will be loved.
Deep dark, spicy, and warm, the scent rises from my perfumed skin - shifting black-brown-gold like old spirits in thick, heavy glass, sparkling in candlelight. Stone walls swallow the light, guard, protect the barrels of oak, which are old, ancient, that have allowed generations of rum to rest, to mature, of port wine, smooth and heavy. Resinous incense, unlit, mingles with the aromas of the woods, the wines, grounding and binding the fine sweetness that does not crunch, does not stick, that hovers in the midst of the dark, glowing like amber, nestled against silky fur. Chocolate drops, black-bitter melted on deep brown skin. So warm, so soft, like a big cat, supple and strong. Just a drop, just a spray distributed here, there, over there, and there - two already take the breath away, prick the nose, the stomach, keeping humans and animals at a distance. In sun, in rain, in the autumn wind.
"Longevity" delivers what its name promises - a spray does not flood the rooms, but remains perceptible at arm's length around me, drawing closer over the hours, becoming softer, gentler, the whole long day, the whole long night, a last remnant in the pillow and even in the hair until the shower.
Great review that makes me curious about the brand. I agree, esoteric and over-the-top marketing texts would probably keep me away, but oh well ;-) This scent might be a bit too boozy for me, but now I'm going to check out what else the brand has to offer…
I'm on Team Bunny and Cleopatra here... I know other ways to keep people and animals at a distance :-D
As beautifully and impressively as you've described this scent, it would probably be a bit too boozy and dark for me.
How could I have missed your review... especially for such a scent that seems amazing to me?! I can only agree with Ttfortwo... it speaks directly to my nose!
How lovely, as already mentioned. I'm glad to see the little dove flying again with beautiful scents and words in its beak. And the fragrance sounds really nice for autumn/winter evenings. I think I might like it..!
A powerful exploration of fragrance that delves into deep associations, making for a wonderful read and inevitably piquing my curiosity. I must admit, I've never heard of the brand before-clearly a mistake.
"Two already take my breath away, prick the nose, the stomach, keep people and animals at a distance." 🙂
So please, three drops for me! Don't worry, I can handle it 😅.
I see the scent has captivated you more than it did me. Maybe testing it in the peak of summer isn't such a bad idea after all... Thank you for the lovely fragrance pictures!
Sprayed here, there... and over there. I have a feeling you tried to use it as a refreshing spray 🙈🤣. With all those spirits... You painted wonderful pictures. 🤗

The scent sounds dark and not without... in some ways...
So please, three drops for me! Don't worry, I can handle it 😅.
Surely a warming delight from the outside on these autumn days.
