Ginger Musical Scale
The first experience of the Egyptian perfume house The Cologne House and their men's fragrance GINGER IN D MAJOR.
The fragrance comes with the signature of the famous perfumer Arnaud Fourré .
The fragrance is from the Signature Symphonies collection that comes with the names of the musical scale.
Scent:
Opening is fresh-spicy and strong notes of Cardamom, the primary notes I get is Ginger, the strongest of the notes is Ginger and on a base of Vetiver and light leather and the dry down Aromatic Spicy.
The fragrance ingredients are of remarkable purity and I didn’t notice any synthetic substances in the composition.
Performance:
Initial projection is moderate at around arms length, sillage is strong with an easily noticeable scent trail, after a few hours the projection and scent trail were gone and it was left as a skin scent.
Not the best in terms of performance.
When to wear:
This is a summer fragrance most suitable for allover day use.
I would consider this an office friendly fragrance.
Blind buy:
If you like Aromatic Spicy fragrances, this could be a safe blind buy for you;
A deservedly summer men's fragrance.
Bottle:
The bottle actually comes from heavy clear glass and bottle cap made of cheap wood-like material and perfume makers should work to improve this point.
Final verdict:
The scent itself was enjoyable. I liked the transition between the opening and dry down, I think the Cardamom and Ginger notes were worked well; overall a nice olfactory experience.
What really killed it was the performance; about few hours before it had to be reapplied.
- Scent: 8/10
- Longevity: 6/10
- Sillage: 7/10
