It is entertaining to observe that Oud Wood can still be praised so highly despite its laughable 2-hour performance.
In a direct comparison, it is only during the first 5-10 minutes that the original smells deeper. After that, this depth fades and both scents end up on the same level olfactorily.
After 2 hours, Oud Wood can only be perceived up close, while the sillage of Bois Oudh continues to be noticeable in the air.
Bois Oudh, which shows no difference from Oud Wood after the opening, clearly wins the race in the further scent development due to its significantly stronger performance.
Tom Ford fanboys? Accept that a (small) brand from the USA has overshadowed your favorite fragrance. ;-)
I completely agree with you, Stallone. On the skin, the oud wood is a joke after a quarter of an hour. BO lasts way longer here. It really has a juicy two hours, and then it still holds up for the rest of the day. The scent is really good too. The opening is a bit intense, but those few minutes don't really matter. I have to say, though, that the fragrance actually needs some time to mature. At first, it was nothing. But now, as I said, it's very rich!
Okay, it seems like a lot of people are really convinced by this, and I'm definitely not a Tom Ford fan! So can someone explain to me why this one is so weak for me and how I should test it differently? I've tested 3 Duas so far, and the other two are amazing, but the Bois Oudh isn't.
