SKIN TEST: This remains lovely. It’s a matcha powder on my skin. I seriously like it, but I retain my position that, bc of how green & grassy this is, Matchalicious is not for everyone. However, it is for me :) PAPER STRIP TEST: Lemme tell you, based on how it went with Dua’s other matcha-forward fragrances, I was entirely prepared to not like this. I’m pleasantly surprised!
This is straight down the middle unisex, fresh, green, grassy and bright! Matchalicious is made for hot summer days; this would be great on a hike.
If you want a freshie with a lot of green elements, this is a great pick. I could see someone comparing this to a homemade green tea over ice, and I’d totally agree. I won’t say Matchalicious is mass-appealing bc most green scents are not crowd pleasers across the board. I think the grassiness blocks this from being blind-buy safe for yourself or for someone else.
As perfume trends move from vanilla gourmand everything to fresher musks, I think this comfortably fits in the trend’s direction..
I believe Replica’s Matcha Meditation is discontinued, and I’ve never smelled it. Thus I’m unable to say how close Dua is to the original. I can say that I’m excited to try a skin test and (potentially) add to cart.
