Don't be fooled!
You'll look at the price and the notes listed here and you'll imagine a far simpler creation than it is in reality. Let me guide you through it.
This is an expert blend of natural extracts that could be priced much higher for several reasons: Expert blending, handcrafted from the beginning to the end and the use of vintage extracts that other brands use to increase price without being able to take advantage of them completely.
From the notes here, you'd argue that there are no top notes and that it'd be a too-dense attar. You'd be wrong. I know because I was too.
I'd argue that, through the in-house saffron extract, the rose oil, the vintage cedarwood oil and probably the vetiver, there is a bright beginning with the illusion of sweet citrus that soon begins to widen into a classic, woody and natural mid that begins to sweeten and become more complex until it reaches a santal heavy base in which a distinct clean leathery feel emboldens the perfume and brings more elegance, maybe through vetiver stored in leather kuppi, patchouli and a clean Hainan oud base that I feel serves as a kind of signature for the brand (sometimes blended with Thai, I think that one isn't used here). This composition never relies on woody synthetics and it has not the usual wood chip smell of many cedarwood modern extracts.
It is a true delight for those searching for a true woody all natural fragrance that delivers completely on its intended goal. My mistake with this perfume was not ordering it, so I thank the owner for the sample he added to my purchase. Begrudgingly so, because I'll be getting a bottle in my next order.
Really good one, The Glass Atelier. I'm a fan.
