STOP! Miami V I C E! Get out of your vehicle immediately!
Ricardo Tubbs: Do you smell that, Crockett?
Sonny Crockett: Yaaa Tubbs....but that’s not cocaine.....what is it?
Ricardo Tubbs: It smells kind of like curry! Hey YOU! Are you smuggling curry around here?
Stranger: No, of course not! To be honest, that’s my new perfume.....by Herbert Stricker...
Ricardo Tubbs: Herbert Who? Curry as a perfume? Are you kidding me?
Stranger: No....no....really now. I’m not lying to you, Officer...
Ricardo Tubbs: Do you hear that, Sunny? The guy is actually wearing curry as a perfume hahaha
Sonny Crockett: (laughs) Honestly, nothing surprises me today......but what’s next? Garlic in perfume?
Ricardo Tubbs: haha, that would be the icing on the cake! Now come on, you joker, what’s the name of Herbert’s curry perfume? Show me the thing.
Stranger: You’re probably going to find this funny because we’re right here, in the city, as it’s called....And it’s "Miami South Beach"
Ricardo Tubbs: So now you really want to mess with me, right? Miami South Beach?? The perfume is supposed to reflect Miami South Beach? With CURRY??? Tell me, has this Herbert Stricker ever been to Miami???
Stranger: Honestly, I have no idea, but he said it reflects the city.
Ricardo Tubbs: Let me tell him something about the city of Miami...
This city is breathtaking! Here, Caribbean/Cuban/Latin American influences meet an American city right by the sea! You could even survive here speaking pure Spanish without knowing English, because in every supermarket, restaurant, gas station, clothing store, bar, clubs, Cubans/Latinos work
This vibrant, stylish, neon-lit city is one of the most exciting metropolises in the world! Miami is the paradise of beautiful people. Movie stars, fashion models, musicians, and millionaires.
During the day, you see a mix of muscular bodies, sweaty skaters and rollers, enchanting ladies doing their workouts, cheerful teens partying during the day, rich snobs enjoying their lunch in fantastic Latin American restaurants, with completely overpriced cocktails using the 2 for 1 trick!
In the evening, things really get going! Starry sky, a light breeze. The first Lambos and Ferraris are already cruising down Ocean Drive to slowly heat up the mood. The bars and clubs open, the neon lights dance to the rhythm of the music that swings through the streets. WELCOME TO MIAMI BABY! Everywhere, beautiful stylish people are out and about. Wearing a light shirt in Miami style, sipping tropical cocktails, maybe treating yourself to a few good cigars (Cubans), having a good time, dancing the night away!
And now we come to the part of the story that is important. Which perfume would one imagine for this city?
Stranger: I’m listening....?
Ricardo Tubbs: How about...
Top note: Lime, melon, bergamot, coconut, mandarin
Base note: Sandalwood, musk, vanilla, tonka bean, amber, cashmere
A blend of Caribbean fruits, fresh tropical touch, with a portion of Cuban specialties and an American luxurious flair. And the noble, stylish, chic bottle has to catch your eye, just like the neon lights from the Miami Beach hotels! Clear so far?
Stranger: That sounds DREAMY! That’s how you can imagine Miami South Beach in a bottle!
Ricardo Tubbs: Well, there we go! We finally understand each other! And now get out of here with your curry, or I’ll really have to give you a ticket for annoying behavior! ;-)
Stranger: I’m already gone! ;-)
Ricardo Tubbs: Come on, Sunny...let’s get out of here.....Tzz...Miami and curry...can you imagine that? I think I’m going crazy....where did he even come from...(laugh)
The end
Just a little story I made up for entertainment purposes :-)
Personally, I was very disappointed with the perfume, especially BECAUSE I really WANTED a truly amazing Miami South Beach perfume that truly reflects this breathtaking city.
As a child, I was a huge fan of Miami, thanks to the series Miami Vice, movies like Scarface, games like GTA Vice City. Especially in the 80s with their luxurious, fresh, colorful, and snow-white style. The cool 80s music to go along with it, Vapo/Retro/Synthwave/Rock/Disco, the neon-lit bars and clubs, and the always cheerful atmosphere. I fell in love with the city the first time I was there. And when you know all of this and want to represent it as a perfume, then Miami South Beach is simply a disappointment.
Tastes are of course different, and some people here like it, but they really shouldn’t have named the scent that way because it definitely does not represent Miami South Beach. Especially not with that damn curry! Haha :D
To be honest, I imagined a very luxurious, fresh, sexy, attractive blend of
- Naxos
- Sunshine Man
- Initio - Side Effects
- Malibù - Party In The Bay
- Pure Havane
- Ambre Tabac
- Sun Men
- Rosso Pompei
with very authentic scent notes. So that you immediately think of Miami when testing, beach, sun, cocktails, parties, pure luxury, style, good mood, sex appeal!
Conclusion: No blind buy, definitely test it beforehand. Name and bottle do not do it justice. H/S mediocre range. And the scent has absolutely nothing to do with Naxos. You could almost have given Naxos the name Miami South Beach, and that would have fit better.
But that’s just my personal opinion on it.
Thank you for your attention, ladies and gentlemen
and if we don’t read each other again, I wish you a good morning, good day, and good evening! ;-)
Mega 😂😂 I can picture it all right in front of me. Just one of the best reviews. Miami is definitely one of those places on Earth that I really want to visit.
