DURRA AMBRE I Does the noble shell from the new Accord Collection manage to balance sweet, aquatic, amber, and floral notes?

As some of you may know, the quality house Spirit of Dubai has introduced a new line of the 2nd Generation, where the bestsellers from the Second Generation have been given a twist to make the fragrances a) more wearable and b) to capture a broader market with significantly reduced prices. One of the fragrances is "Durra | The Spirit of Dubai," which has received a counterpart in the Accord Collection with "Durra Ambre | The Spirit of Dubai." I would like to introduce this to you a bit more closely after several testings over the past few days.

The Durra Ambre is, compared to "Durra | The Spirit of Dubai," much more "refined"; significantly less animalic, warmer, sweeter, and more ambered. Now, let's get to Durra Ambre itself. PS: It is nearly impossible to pick out anything singular in the fragrance pyramids of Spirit of Dubai, but I will do my best.

- The scent starts rather fruity-sweet; I have the feeling that the grapefruit-peach combination is predominant in the initial spray, soon accompanied by a certain aquatic note; this does not smell salty but rather fresh like at the coast.

- The next shift in the early phases is indicated as a quick turnaround occurs, with a slight touch of spicy almond/vanilla, which could come from the ambrette and amber, followed by a balsamic note.

- Gradually, a phase of floral notes emerges; rose and bright flowers lead the fragrance towards a "cleanliness direction," but the creamy undertone still remains and is complemented by a minimally dosed leather. In the drydown, the leather and floral notes (rose and light floral flowers) remain, becoming a bit less woody, earthy, and minimally green without entirely losing the creaminess of the vanilla, naturally embedded in an ambered "bubble."

- The performance is definitely in the upper third, and I think many of the fragrances still need to macerate a bit, but one can be very satisfied, as the price/performance ratio for the overall package with the bottle and the leather travel box is already remarkably good. The projection is definitely also in the upper third.

To summarize: The Durra Ambre has, in my view, successfully balanced many fragrance directions and takes you on an exciting trip journey from fruity-sweet to aquatic, floral, and earthy-woody ambered stations; and yes, each station is beautifully executed, but we all know that a journey with too many stops can be less enjoyable for some. The fragrance could be challenging for people who have little experience and/or are simply not long in the game. However, this does not change the fact that the fragrance is really well executed.

Important side notes:
- You really have to enjoy sweet, aquatic, floral, ambered fragrances, as the fluctuations in each phase are intense.
- The fragrance is much more wearable than the "big brother" or "big sister" of "Durra | The Spirit of Dubai."
- The idea/inspiration for these fragrances, as far as I know, comes from the history of Dubai, where many pearl divers were active in the beginning, which strongly shaped the history in the early phase of this world cultural city.
