Dark, Damp & Oily Joe!
Dark, oily, woody, smoky in a roasted sense—only a dash of cream is to be found in this cup of Javanese Coffee. Old furnishings stained with tobacco and spilled Joe. Damp logs with a cup of morning’s brew atop, sending wafts as you finish chopping heartwood for the winter. Cabins and Cowboy coffee. Vanilla blooms out of dark roast grounds as times pass.
As acquired a taste as real dark coffee—be sure to think twice before you dive into the abyss! As can be expected of UCCAs, longevity is out of this world. However as is also mentioned in the great review below, the musty allegations can’t be beaten. While I often appreciate the ‘dirtier’ aspects of scents that work to create a more robust, realistic profile, the reason I can’t score any higher is that I feel they do go a tad bit too far here. But nonetheless, it’s a wonderful scent, and the images of beans it conjures in mind is all the fuller for it.
