Earthy dressed patch-rosewood, experiencing fading justice, soaking through winding paths of wax.

The resinous, waxy side intrigues me.

In the exhausting endless (and often uninspired) stream of rose ouds, this one sounds intriguing enough to at least perk up at "wax" and "hay."

I don't know anything from this house yet, but they seem to be solidly crafted overall. The lack of animal notes is definitely a plus, but Rose-Oud should have something interesting and beautiful alongside the two main accords... for example, in the Ensar trio, it was the mandarin for me. Now it's a bit too rose and musk-heavy for my taste. That's why I now prefer oud-heavy rose ouds.

@Ropanski2020 Layali is good!

Absolutely. The EO N°3 was never really my thing; I definitely preferred the EO Red. I can understand your change of heart. Maybe the Layali from Agar Aura would be a good fit for you!?

You might actually like it. The slightly cool opening might give you a bit of a chill, but the warm base will please you. You might wish it were just a bit warmer.

The nth Rose-Oud honestly still manages to impress when it's well done. That definitely seems to be the case here.

I would generally agree with that. It's just that sometimes it's not easy to find the wonderful rose forest amidst all the squeaky synthetic chemical heaps nearby.

I generally like the brand.

The brand is highly regarded by me. Unique DNA, no big social media nonsense, generally little fuss around the brand, no artificial hype. Understated, yet sometimes very characterfully bold in its direction.

Beautiful. I would be very interested in something like that. A wild rose with hay and a lovely oud note...

The blending remains unique; the opening might be too harsh for some noses, but I actually like it.

No, it's definitely not a big hit. However, I do appreciate the approach the perfumer is taking, even if it doesn't come across as perfectly executed.

Fading justice... I often prefer a more subtle justice with rose. Although vinegar rose is still one of the more tolerable types.

😄...that's true, vinegar rose is very pleasant. But there are definitely people who take the vinegar part literally ☺️.

With newly announced rose-oud fragrances-whether indie, niche, or designer-I often feel my neck hairs stand up at the sheer number of self-replicating blueprints. I really like the opening here: This grounding, cooling Borneo oud beautifully blends with the spicy vinegar rose. The oud has a profile similar to that in the (current) 3rd batch of Vanille de Agar, although from a different (source) region. The type of rose chosen here is excellent, with a spicy, meaty profile that balances the earthiness well. The animalic notes are largely subdued, and I have to agree with my predecessors on that. Towards the end, it develops into a lovely, quite (skin-close) dry-balsamic scent, with the hay absolute clearly noticeable. It doesn't feel 100% tested or pushed to its limits. Nevertheless, it's a truly elegant, aesthetic fragrance.
