If you think my nose is ready for this scent, I'll happily add it to my wishlist. Maybe one day I'll get the chance to experience this journey with the fragrance itself. @Seejungfrau ☺️
Fiona thought Ergo & Yati were terrible. I've also become sensitive to animalic and floral scents. But the fresh contrasts and the oud make me sense that there's a lot happening here. Hmm, exciting. Also the statement.
I really don't know if the connection to Fiona is accurate. I would have to test it against something else. It's just a fragment of many confusing images in my head. 😀
When this crazy [Madjenoen] Oud shower arrived, I was quite irritated. First of all...
I can only share my notes on it. The scent is so complex (which I love about Jaka Umbaran's fragrances) that wearing it three times is NEVER enough.
# A sandalwood box sustainably perfumed with church stone rose.
Something like lavender/rosemary/neroli. Dish soap. A bit wild. (The musk creature here is a feisty castoreum muskrat.) The scent is dirty and squeaky clean at the same time.
Salty, green elements pop up, and the oud alternates coming through.
Even today, wild images jump through my mind. Among other things, the closeness to Fiona/TSVGA (I unfortunately don't have a direct comparison).
And YES - it's a worthy Ucca year-end for 2023.
Thanks to @Matze8338 for the bottle.
Since my nose still isn't working perfectly, I can still confirm your impressions from a retrospective view based on my first two tests from a week and a half ago. It definitely has a rather animalistic, dark-woody finish. That clean mess in the lavender-rose thicket is quite potent. The oud is noticeable at the beginning and in the dry down. This is another specific UCCA design that follows the tradition of scratchy scent creations like Leatheroud. I really like it too, and it’s indeed a great way to wrap up 2023.
Ucca - Text - Addition:
The heart notes introduce a bouquet of blooming flowers, sweet indolic Indonesian jasmine, fresh and velvety Indian rose, tropical and exotic frangipani, the seductive scent of red champaca, combined with sweet, musky, animalic notes of vintage civet paste and the aroma of vintage deer musk grains. And the base of sweet Borneo oud, coumarin-rich hay, peaty oak wood, soft, earthy Haitian vetiver, and smoky Kalakassi oud rests on leathery castoreum. Overall, Madjenoen is a dark oriental floral composition for those who love perfumery to the point of losing their minds.
TEXT # ucca.oudperfumes.2023 was very beautiful, we are grateful and proud to have gone through the journey of our lives this year, and we are closing this year with the humble presentation of a new, limited perfume called Madjenoen. Madjenoen is actually an Arabic word meaning "crazy." This perfume composition is written in classic Indonesian style and is a tribute to those who love perfumery with a burning passion that eventually turns into a crazy obsession. Each stage of this perfume contained animal ingredients that help enhance other scents. The fresh, bitter, and spicy Yuzu blends with the sparkling note of Sicilian lemon and Taifi rose. The sweetness of the powdery mandarin and Ylang-Ylang scent is intertwined with the gentle, sun-kissed aroma of muskrat. Not to forget a hint of Burmese vintage oud as the base...
Hats off! :D
Challenge accepted.
