This perfume is a trip!
Vacation is kitsch to the nth degree, and perfect for nostalgiaholics like myself. is it gimmicky? sure, and that sense of playfulness is pretty core to the experience of wearing this scent - it conjures that magic anticipatory moment of begrudgingly applying sunscreen before running to the beach, or heading over to the pool snack bar.
it's not quite as anachronistic as accidentally spraying a bottle of sunscreen in the winter, and getting a longing whiff of sunny, warmer days. but i doubt i'd wear this in cooler months, unless you also reside in a place that has native palm trees and year-round foliage.
the banana note is fairly prominent in the beginning, but fades out as time goes on, thankfully. it's not a bad note, just not something i'd wear with any more longevity than this. the sunscreen elements temper as wear time goes on, too, and it becomes an extremely pleasant summery experience with supporting florals and the airy element of walking into an air-conditioned hotel lobby.
this one definitely doesn't have a ton of staying power, and requires reapplication throughout the day. but this feels true to the spirit of the brand because, as with any vacation, i always wished it lasted a little longer.
