…Zibi is already lying in wait. Subtly animalic, with a slightly “pissy” edge at first. Then it fades into the background, letting more floral nuances come through, while still adding a subtly animalic backdrop. For much of the wear, it has a classic chypre framework: green, spicy, slightly herbaceous, with a floral surround. At one point there’s a bit of fizzy, soda-like sparkle (think woodruff soda), with the faintest hint of smoke-just a brief moment. It reminds me of testing “Talking to the Moon” by VFTS. The drydown has a pronounced cedar-vetiver base: woody, dry, and slightly straw-like. Patchouli is clearly in the background. Sillage is okay to good; longevity is quite potent. It lasts a good 9-10 hours on my skin, though after a while it stays close to the skin.
I’m not usually a big chypre fan, but hats off-this is a well-crafted composition. I like it.
