If you can't keep a promise, then don't make one just because it sounds nice!
Once again, I would like to share some information about a brand, or rather, much more about a fragrance, to support any interested parties.
As is often the case, this fragrance popped up before my eyes while scrolling through social media. Until recently, I had never heard of this brand, where would I have... I immediately liked the design surrounding the brand, somewhat mystical, powerful, Nordic. Additionally, great names were chosen for the fragrances, which beautifully underscore the Viking world. I love fresh scents and assumed that this one would also be fresh. But even a glance at the fragrance pyramid raised some initial doubts. Their number 03, the Fjord Essence, is described by the label as follows: "A fresh fjord breeze with floral lightness and warm depth"
My statement on this in short: Aha... whoever believes it will be blessed.
Let's take a look at the fragrance pyramid together; do we really recognize a "fresh fjord breeze" here? Probably not. I truly find it puzzling how one builds such a design around their brand, makes such descriptions, and then fills a nearly 1:1 copy of Fucking Fabulous Eau de Parfum into the bottle. The paradox of the matter is that the "copy" isn't even bad, perhaps a tad fresher than the Tom Ford, but overall well-balanced. The scent is by no means bad, cheap, or anything like that. It has power and shows a really strong sillage with considerable endurance. So, anyone looking for a real alternative to Fucking Fabulous Eau de Parfum can buy this without hesitation. The fragrance is therefore a mixture of creamy, softly powdery notes, characterized by gentle leather, fine vanilla, and very prominent bitter almond as well as tonka bean. A fine amber base holds the structure together wonderfully. As I said, this is really well done here.
But, this is not what I expect when a fresh fjord breeze is mentioned. Accordingly, I find it very difficult to evaluate the fragrance. A mathematically correct approach to a misinterpreted task still leads to 0 points. I don't want to be that harsh, but I am still annoyed by such misleading marketing, so my rating reflects this, even though the fragrance itself is not bad.
