I thought Ambrette-Iris-Leather would always work for me, but I'm having trouble with this one: An extremely dry, bitter iris is initially ruined for me by an overpowering spray adhesive note, and later by synthetic sawdust. Pepper seems plausible to me; I have to use my imagination for suede, but then I can smell it.
The scent isn't loud, but it's persistently monotone and resistant to washing off. However, I did get used to it fairly quickly in the end.
Not my thing.
