The Morning After the Fire
Foreword:
I only read Can's statement afterward. I wanted to let my own associations run free without any preconceived notions.
I completely understand Can's perspective on the fragrance, and I too was initially startled by so much smoke - with that title!! For a moment, similar images came to mind, and I was tempted to wash off the scent. In a split second, the feelings became completely mixed up. This is a very intense topic!!
But then I wanted to detach myself from that and curiously see what images arise in me independent of the name. And very beautiful memories came to me that fit the various facets of the fragrance. Especially the melancholic conclusion unexpectedly touched me.
Woken by the sun, I crawled out of the tent, wrapped in a blanket, we sit cuddled up again on the straw bales by the fire.
Someone has placed a few logs and rekindled the embers. The charred sticks lie to the side. The stick bread - as always - was still raw inside. It still tasted good - as always.
Your hair, your sweater, you and I, we both smell of yesterday, of the long night. The conversations, the music still in our ears, the voice still hoarse from laughing and singing. Your closeness, the warmth of your body, still on my skin in the cool night.
The morning after, calm, lost in thought, cuddled up, a little melancholic...
The fire... a symbol of exuberant joy, dance, love, passion... and transience.
The last flames are extinguishing. A small plume of smoke rises into the sky. The gaze follows it.
Behind us, the forest... it remains.
Dear Can, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to test the fragrance!
And I thank you for your statement and for your empathy for the many women who have experienced endless suffering!
