Amouage is a brand that every perfume enthusiast has heard of, but the prices have really skyrocketed in recent years. At least I remember seeing the fragrance for just under €100 about 3-4 years ago.
In Oman, I then smelled a few of them and was amazed that they seem to do their own thing and create scents that are more oriented towards smells from nature, thus distinguishing themselves from classic designer fragrances and most niche perfume houses.
But enough about that; this isn't even an Amouage, just a clone of it.
I have no idea, of course, but I imagine it would be significantly harder to clone an Amouage than a Louis Vuitton, Dior, or Kilian fragrance.
Nevertheless, it has been executed perfectly.
The scent starts with a light freshness, reminiscent of a coniferous forest, but quickly becomes drier, evoking a bit of a meadow with sheep. There's no real animalic note like a cow barn, but still leather accords that go in a completely different direction than one is used to.
I imagine the following scenario: I'm taking a walk in the forest in summer, wearing a leather jacket, and it hasn't rained for weeks.
As I walk towards a clearing, it suddenly starts to rain. Not cold, but a pleasantly warm and light rain. I smell how the moss, the trees, the herbs, and the earth absorb the water and release their scent into the air. In the clearing, I see a herd of sheep grazing, enjoying the pleasant rain.
Strange description, but that's the scent for me!
In my eyes, it's a fragrance that everyone should try at least once on their journey. For those who don't want to spend nearly €200 on the original, this is perfect, and you definitely understand what the scent wants to convey.
Finding an occasion for this scent is quite difficult; I only wear it during walks. In my opinion, it's definitely not something for the office or going out, but for me, it's a new experience every time I wear it.
Definitely give it a try; I'm sure it will provide you with a beautiful experience.
