It's so nice to be back!!

Hello fragrant friends :) ...

I cannot tell you all how nice it is to be back in fragrance heaven (Parfumo.net of course) after a completely insane work schedule has kept me away for the last few months. Sayless to need I have missed you all most awfully and am thrilled to be back in your exalted company, so I just thought I'd write a bit to catch up ... because even though I wasn't finding the time to write about fragrance, some interesting bottles have come my way of late!

I've been traveling a great deal for work, so I have exhausted the supply of 'new' things at the duty free emporia that I haunt. Unfortunately the airports have all been the same ... but it is nice to be remembered by the staff who work there ... makes for some lovely free stuff too :).

I've spent the last seven weeks or so traveling between the excruciating heat of the UAE and the hot humidity of the Seychelles, and quite frankly was looking for something that I call a 'spray and go' fragrance. It needed to be light and clean (I never thought those words would come out of my mouth!) because I found I was becoming relatively irritated by my own sillage when wearing overpowering fragrances in hot weather. Lo and behold, the perfect fragrance found its way to me in the completely unassuming Infusion d' Homme by Prada. Now, I've tested this fragrance on and off for the last 3 or 4 years and found it too simple and even a little boring. For some reason it just blossomed on my skin in the heat, keeping me shower fresh and cool as a cucumber for hours!! I have every intention of stocking up on some of the very large 200ml bottles, as this fragrance has overtaken all others for me at the moment and become my daytime signature!

I was gifted a bottle of Armani Si, which I gave to a lovely young lady friend of mine who fell in love with it! Too much fruit for me unfortunately, bit I did rather enjoy smelling it on her on the occasions that she wore it.

A friend from Monaco asked if wanted anything from Europe so I said I'd love some Mad Madame or Midnight Oud by JHaG and a bottle of Heeley's Ophelia. Her local niche perfumery was out of stock, but what she did bring me were Heeley's Hippie Rose (which is just fabulous) and Memo's Luxor Oud which is a lovely, light treatment of that note. Reviews will follow shortly :).

I have bottles of Byredo's Bal d'Afrique, Carolina by Mazzolari and Parfums DelRae Amoureuse on the way. I also arrived home from my travels today to a wonderful package containing a sample pass of the Lôant collection and some generous gifts of samples by some of the lovely members here! I have some vintage Vol de Nuit by Guerlain to test ... some vintage Givenchy Insensé, Blackberry and Bay and Wild Bluebell by Jo Malone ... some Honour by Amouage and something that is new to me called Silk Way. My nose and typing fingers will be very busy in the coming few days :).

Wishing you all a fragrant day!!
